Nasser Deeb
Show Director

Bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in the events industry, Nasser Deeb has been instrumental in developing successful event and trade platforms across various sectors including technology, healthcare, construction, automotive, lifestyle, and oil & gas. Renowned for his integrity and expertise,

After a flourishing career in the Middle East, Nasser made a pivotal move to Canada in 2012, leading international market development and pioneering new events for Informa Exhibitions, the world's largest trade show organizer with a global footprint spanning 6 continents. In early 2017, Nasser established THE EXPO HUT in Toronto, offering his specialized knowledge to major exhibition organizers in North America. He conceptualized the creation of a trade platform for the Halal lifestyle industry in North America, aimed at elevating standards and fostering awareness of Muslim livelihoods in Canada through his adept organization of professional trade shows. Presently, Nasser is focused on launching Halal Expo Philippines in November 2024, with DTI as a strategic principal partner.

A graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi in marketing management, Nasser is Certified in Exhibition Management by IAEE –USA (International Association of Exhibitions and Events). In recognition of his significant contributions, Nasser Deeb was honored as one of Canada's most influential event professionals by BIZBASH in 2021.​

Grace Aguilar
Director, Operations

Grace Aguilar had spent the last 15 years managing events, marketing and hospitality projects and in 2006 launched her own integrated marketing and exhibition solution company in Dubai to seek vent to her expertise, skills and true passion. Her mission for this venture is to continue offering unique trade show solutions and creating the ideal platform for the Halal Lifestyle Industry in Canada.

Grace is a graduate from the School of Management of Philippine Women's University specialized in Hotel, Restaurants and Food Technology Management and active member of International Association of Exhibitions and Events.

Yiling Zhang
Project Manager

After a successful career in home country China span over a decade, Yiling moved to Canada in 2013 to pursue a further postgraduate education in International Business and Finance. Starting as a volunteer and part-time on the Buildings Show in 2014, she joined Informa Exhibition in Toronto as International Project Coordinator to be part the successful development of the International market segment and STONEX Canada part of The Buildings Show after completing 2 postgraduate diplomas.
 
In January 2018 Yiling joined THE EXPO HUT as the Sales and Project Coordinator for a local and International portfolio of Events. Besides her English communication skills, Yiling communicates in both Cantonese and Mandarin which gives her the leading edge in developing great opportunities in the world’s largest economy, China.
 

Maysoun Deeb
Marketing Manager​

Maysoun is a Marketing Management graduate from Sheridan College with over 5 years of experience in event and marketing management. Her career in events started at the young age of 14 in the Middle East and Canada, where she assisted with organizing events such as The Big Show, Fan Expo, Muslim Fest, and Delicious Food Show. Maysoun's passion for events and eye for detail has always been an asset to the team.

​Her interest in the halal lifestyle industry grew after working on the organization of Muslim Fest in Mississauga. There, she discovered the vast potential for showcasing halal lifestyle products and services in a trade platform format. Maysoun brings creativity, enthusiasm, and high energy to THE EXPO HUT team, ensuring that every event leaves a lasting impression.

Maryam Ali
​Project Coordinator

Maryam Ali is a dedicated project coordinator for Halal Expo Canada 2024, bringing a background in research analysis to the trade show industry.
With experience in roles such as E-Commerce Intern at Mega Dollar Canada and Shopify Expert at Maryam's E-shop Media, Maryam excels in optimizing online presence and enhancing brand visibility.
Her expertise in managing successful conservation projects at Unilever showcases her commitment to driving impactful change within the industry.
Maryam holds a Graduate Certificate in Research Analysis from Humber College and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the University of Gujrat. With meticulous attention to detail and a passion for innovation, Maryam ensures the success of Halal Expo Canada through strategic planning and execution.

Dr. Hamid Slimi

​Chairman and senior lecturer of the Canadian Centre for Deen Studies
Chairman of the Conference Advisory Committee - Halal Expo Canada
Dr. Hamid Slimi is an Academic scholar, a spiritual leader, a teacher and a Community Developer. He is: the current chairman and senior lecturer of the Canadian Centre for Deen Studies (a Muslim Theological Seminary for educating and training future Imams and chaplains). He is also the Founder and President of Faith of Life Network (A Charitable organization focused on providing spiritual and educational programs as well as bridge building with other faiths for peace building and harmony)  and Board member of different Interfaith and Community bodies/groups, TV Producer of Faith of Life TV Shows, videos and documentaries and CEO of a Management and Marketing Solutions Business in Ontario.
 
In addition to the traditional degrees known as Ijazah, he holds two Masters degrees with High Honors in both disciplines from Morocco and the US and a PhD in Islamic Law from the U.K. He received both his traditional and academic learning in Morocco and attended other renowned institutions and universities in other parts of the world.
 
From 2009 till 2018, Dr. Slimi has been featured by Georgetown University as one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World for his community development and building as well as his spiritual leadership and interfaith work.

Hossam Khedr 

Consultant - Strategic Partnership
Recognized for his local and global work, Hossam Khedr is a well-connected community leader in the greater Toronto area. His work with youth both in the Muslim community and in the mainstream community in Canada is widely appreciated. He is the president of the Muslim Youth Soccer League in Mississauga serving 2000 players age 4 and up.

​He is the founder of accessKix, an accessible and inclusive soccer program serving young people with disabilities. Hossam also serves as a volunteer manager for the Homeless World Cup, an annual sport event that serves teams from 70 member countries. He understands the challenges of minority communities.

He is passionate about elevating the brand of Muslims in North America and wants to improve the standard of living of Muslims in Canada and other western countries.

Hossam has a Bachelor of Computer Science  and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Windsor, Ontario.

Selim Perek

Consultant - International Market  
Selim Perek is a seasoned international businessman with high integrity, result oriented and passionate leader with over 25 years of experience in developing new markets in the areas of Food, Construction and Fashion through import and export activities particularly from Turkey and North America.
 
In 2012 and after a long and successful career in the International Trade, Selim decided to move to Toronto to make Canada as his new home for him and his family. Immediately after settling in Canada, Selim launched successfully in few years well known Turkish Brands into the North American which led to tremendous market expansion into the Americas.
 
Based on the wealth of international trade experience and global market resources, Selim poses, he joined the team of Halal Expo Canada as a consultant in Mid 2018 to develop the Turkey market and increase the presence of Halal Turkish products in Canada through our trade show platform, Halal Expo Canada 2021.

​Selim is a graduate of Economic and Finance from the University of Marmara in Turkey.
